For the fourth annual Future of Commerce 2030+ Grocery Summit, The Emerson Group partnered with Albrecht Events to provide stage management and show calling services for the event’s high-profile speaking program at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville.

Set against the energy and excitement of Music City, the summit brought together leading voices from grocery, wellness, retail, and consumer brands to explore what’s next for the industry. Attendees heard from an impressive lineup of keynote speakers, including Carrie Underwood on women’s health, Jocko Willink on leadership, and Scott Galloway on the future of business and consumer trends. Behind the Curtain: What a Stage Manager Really Does

As Stage Manager and Show Caller, Albrecht Events served as the central hub for all program activity, coordinating speakers, presentations, timing, transitions, and technical cues. Working closely with the audiovisual team, our role was to keep every moving piece aligned and every session running smoothly.

Preparation began months before the event with weekly planning meetings, development of a detailed run-of-show, speaker coordination, and close collaboration with the production team to ensure alignment on every cue, transition, and presentation element.

Precision Planning Meets Real-Time Execution

Once onsite, our team became the primary point of contact for speakers, management teams, security personnel, and production partners. We led technical rehearsals, confirmed presenter requirements, and coordinated backstage logistics to ensure every speaker felt prepared and confident before taking the stage.

During the summit, Albrecht Events directed the show in real time through headset communication with the AV team, managing speaker entrances, slide advances, video cues, timing adjustments, and program transitions. Whether anticipating schedule changes, resolving last-minute challenges, or adapting to evolving event needs, our focus remained the same: delivering a seamless experience for both speakers and attendees.
